Financial Literacy Campaign
Who Are We?
The Financial Literacy Campaign started in 2013 and functions as an independent vertical of the Finance & Investment Cell, St. Stephen's College. We are committed to creating awareness about financial products and services, good financial practices, promoting digital banking among the youth and working adults from underprivileged societies across Delhi. We host regular financial literacy sessions for school students and adult literacy sessions in collaboration with RBI.
Keeping our larger aim in mind, we also conduct Fin Literati, a ‘Financial Literacy’ themed fest, the largest in the entire DU circuit which unfolds the mysteries of the financial world in a fun and exhilarating manner. The Carnival is the fun part of Fin Literati in which we invite students from classes 6 to 10 and host sessions and games with financial literacy aspects to ensure that the students learn in a relaxed manner.
What We Do?
Impact individual lives in order to ensure a secure & brighter future for all age groups by creating financial awareness and providing inclusion in digital banking.
We inspire trust by keeping our commitments and upholding our ethics and honesty.
We treat everyone with respect and dignity.
We encourage inquisitivity and innovation.
We strive to increase our range of impact by expanding our operations to college students and underprivileged adults by providing financial awareness and assistance in digital banking.
Our Current Initiatives
For School Students
We have imparted financial literacy to over 200 students at 3 Teach For India (TFI) centres, in 2018. Current collaboration involves sessions at 2 TFI adopted schools, Government Girls Senior Secondary School at Kashmiri Gate and Government Boys school at Jahangirpuri
We have a long term collaboration with Social Service League (SSL), St. Stephen's college which is a 110 year old society, working towards betterment of the underprivileged sections. Our collaboration is aimed at imparting Financial Literacy to over 80 students within the age group of 6 to 16 years under SSL's education project
Fin Literati'19, one of our annual festivals based on financial literacy hosted an Educational Carnival for these school students which involved financial awareness activities like Aadhaar card Photo Booth corner, digital banking quiz etc
For College Students
We started an Infographic and FinTrivia series which covers complicated financial terms and topics and makes them easy to understand using visual tools and explanations like GST, Leverage, Bootstrapping etc. This initiative was aimed at making the youth more financially sound and is carried out on our social media platforms which have an outreach of over 1,00,000 students.
We organise college-based competitions for our annual festival, Fin Literati which involves events based on business acumen, financial knowledge and social awareness. It saw a participation of over 800 college students in March 2019.
We organised a week-long online Financial Awareness Quiz on different topics ranging from Current affairs to Industrial sectors for the Financial Literacy week commenced by Reserve Bank of India, in June 2019 to develop dynamic financial knowledge among the youth.
